APIs should be boring to operate and clear to evolve.
ErthDev is looking for a Node.js Backend Engineer to design and build reliable services for the products we deliver to clients.
You'll work on APIs, business logic, integrations, and the systems that keep applications trustworthy under real load.
What you'll do
- Design and implement backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Model domain logic clearly and keep boundaries intentional.
- Work with relational and/or document databases.
- Build integrations with third-party services and internal systems.
- Write maintainable, testable TypeScript/JavaScript code.
- Improve performance, reliability, and observability of services.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.
- Handle authentication, authorization, and data-access concerns carefully.
- Document APIs and important technical decisions.

Requirements
What we're looking for
- Strong Node.js experience in production systems.
- Solid TypeScript or modern JavaScript skills.
- Strong understanding of HTTP, APIs, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB).
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security basics.
- Familiarity with testing (unit, integration).
- Comfortable with Git and collaborative development.
- Ability to reason about performance and failure modes.
Experience with NestJS, Express, Fastify, Prisma, TypeORM, Redis, message queues, Docker, and AWS is a plus.
