ErthDev is looking for a Laravel Backend Engineer to build maintainable PHP applications and APIs for client products and internal platforms.
You'll work across domain logic, databases, queues, and integrations—with an emphasis on clarity and long-term ownership.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain Laravel applications and APIs.
- Design clean domain models, services, and database schemas.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access where needed.
- Work with queues, jobs, and background processing.
- Write tests that protect critical business behavior.
- Optimize queries and application performance.
- Integrate with payment, messaging, and third-party APIs.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.
- Participate in code reviews and technical planning.
- Improve documentation and developer experience for the codebase.

Requirements
What we're looking for
- Strong PHP and Laravel experience in production.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and Eloquent.
- Experience building REST APIs.
- Understanding of queues, caching, and application lifecycle.
- Familiarity with testing in Laravel.
- Good Git and collaboration habits.
- Security-aware development practices.
- Ability to communicate trade-offs clearly.
Experience with Laravel Sail, Livewire/Inertia, Redis, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Docker, CI/CD, and domain-driven design is a plus.
